Housing Contact

This was sent to the Office of Admissions (unsolicited). I'm just passing it along.

Hello! I have nice apartments and houses in Germantown/East Falls available for immediate rental to your medical students. How can I advertise my units to your students? You may have your students call me directly for more info at 215-233-5617. However, I would be happy to email a list of what I have available, as well. Thank you.

bank?

I guess this question is for Aisha--I'm having to switch banks and want to know if there's one bank in particular that students find to be good or especially convenient (i.e. ATM in the student center or something.)

Thanks!

Anyone know which edition of Netter's we need?

I'm a little lost as to the edition we're going to need--

From the book list posted in May:

Atlas of Human Anatomy, Frank Netter, 3rd edition, 2002, Icon Learning Systems.
....which I guess corresponds to ISBN 1929007116 (Amazon's page link)

but there's also a brand new 4th edition out as of June 2006: ISBN 1416033858--seemingly newfangled with some kind of online access.

Help?

Thanks!

If you're not bringing a car to Philly....

Hi guys--

Just wanted to let you know that Temple has posted the application for the SEPTA University Pass on the Bursar's website:

http://www.temple.edu/bursar/UniPassFormInfo2006.htm

I am not bringing a car to Philly and didn't relish the thought of always having money on hand for the bus or subway. The transportation pass is good for four months (...the semester) and it's discounted 10% for Temple students down to $250. The TransPass is good for Zone 1 travel (basically CC) and the TrailPasses are good for more outlying neighborhoods. More details can be found at SEPTA's website:

http://www.septa.org/fares.html

Hope this helps someone else!!

Anyone still need a roommate?

Hey Everyone,

So, I've looked at a few places and I have one option right now. It's really nice...but my roommate wouldn't be a student or close in age...and I just thought it would be a bit more fun to have more in common with the person I live with.

Anyways, I prefer to live with other females. If you have a place and need another roommate or if you are still looking, let me know. I'm pretty laid back and responsible. I like having my space and giving you yours. I haven't had problems getting along with ppl who party hard as well as those that don't.

Email me and I will give you a fully detailed account of who I am. Thanks a lot!

Alternative Loans

Just wondering if you have applied/ started to apply for alternative loans. I got this information a little late (some type of email glitch I think) and I wanted to know if anyone had any advice or did any research on the process. Are you using the graduate PLUS program?

I'm just a little nervous about taking out loans for so much money....

Thanks.

anyone moving from new york city?

I don't have a place in Philadelphia yet but I know that I'll be moving out of my current place by August 1st. I was wondering if anyone is moving to Philly from New York City (I live in Brooklyn) and if you want to share a U-haul or Budget rental truck.

My major pieces of furniture are a bed and dresser...the rest of it is the usual- clothes, music etc.

Sharing the cost of a truck would be great. First estimates are around 200 bucks for truck and hand dolly plus 50-75 for other possible costs (tax, gas, tolls...don't know what else). Split between two or three people-it could be really affordable.

Please email me if you are interested. tdulani@gmail.com
